David Jones department store approaches Lisa to stock her collection in the David Jones Bridal Suite on the Seventh Floor of their flagship Elizabeth Street store in Sydney. David Jones collection of Lisa Gowing gowns and accessories continues to sell well.
Lisa dresses Libby Lenton in two couture designs for her wedding to Luke Trickett. Libby’s wedding is featured in the media and she donates all the proceeds to charity.
Lisa also launches Lisa Gowing Event; a collection of eveningwear and bridesmaid attire. This collection is sold at the LISA GOWING FLAGSHIP SHOWROOM, Joyce Boutique in Hong Kong and exclusive boutiques in Singapore and Australia. Lisa married in 2007 and choose to concentrate her energies on only the bride and her bridal collection, Lisa stopped producing Event and started her family shortly afterwards.
Lisa Gowing ready-to-wear is introduced in 2004, the first of the high end bridal couturiers to launch a diffusion line, her demi-couture collection is readily snapped up by eager brides relishing the opportunity to wear a Lisa Gowing creation for their special day.
Lisa dresses Channel Nine newsreader Georgie Gardner in a couture gown for her wedding. Lisa’s client base reaches as far as the USA, the UK and throughout Asia, with clients flying in to select their gown and accessory ensemble for their day.
Lisa flies to Los Angeles to meet with Deborra-Lee Furness and Hugh Jackman in their Bel Air home where she custom designs a couture gown and coat for Deborra-Lee to wear to the Tony Awards in June 2003, the first year Hugh was host.
Lisa shows her bridal collection at New York Bridal Market for the first time with great success. The collection is well received by buyers and media alike. Lisa continues to show for three more seasons selling to Neiman Marcus, Joyce Boutique in Hong Kong and several other high-end retailers across the US.
Lisa relocates her showroom to Edgecliff and opens the LISA GOWING FLAGSHIP SHOWROOM. This landmark site still houses the Lisa Gowing Demi-Couture bridal and Accessories collections today. Already well recognised in Australia as an industry leader, Lisa’s gowns are coveted by brides worldwide.
